Good food. Short wait to be seated

Severely underrated! I saw them busy during the lunch rush a few times and figured I was missing out. As it turns out, I totally was. This place is authentic as it gets. In two visits I've had the Fajitas and the El Ranchito, and both were well-portioned and fairly priced. I highly recommend the El Ranchito - a combo platter of steak, chicken breast, pork chop, shrimp, and other goodies.

Portions are small and overpriced.. in my opinion. Food was tasteless. Very disappointed since I was craving tacos..

I didn't really know about this place until recently but I'm so happy I gave it a shot. The tacos are great and taste so authentic. It's refreshing to find a place with REAL FOOD. It's rarely ever busy and the service is quick. It's nice to not have to go to another town for this type of food since this is close by. 5 Stars all around.

Excellent food! I haven’t had good Mexican food in a long time. Great portions and the waitress was accommodating. Would recommend to anyone.

My first and last time here. Me and my husband decided to try this place out other then our usual spot in rahway. We ordered guacamole and the dip that comes with the meal as we are waiting for our meal we asked for more chips to finish our guacamole and she said it would be a dollar for the chips mind you there was barely anything in the basket. And she said that an order of chips did not come with the guacamole. I hate cheap restaurants. This is what I get for cheating on la malinche in rahway,nj La malinche is the best Mexican restaurant in central jersey 👍🏻 I really didn’t enjoy piling the guacamole on my tacos but I had no choice I wasn’t about to pay a dollar for some chips or eat with my fingers smh. And you guys should put your heat on, its cold in your restaurant I shouldn’t have to eat with my jacket on👍🏻

Excellent service, very clean place with clean restrooms. I just wish the food would have little more authentic taste and flavor. If you prefer more of American/Mexican place this is your spot.

Best Mexican food I've had so far

I love this restaurant. Good food nice and clean.

It was very clean. Food was good and tasted fresh. I enjoyed the hot tortillas with my grilled chicken meal. Went with a friend that had gone there before and she really enjoys it so I said np let's give it a try. I'll go back the next time I'm in that area.

A very clean restaurant with a great variety of choices. Food ranges from burritos and tacos to entrees like the delicious chicken mole. There are several authentic Mexican dishes that I'm not adventurous enough to try, such as goat, stomach soup, and pigs feet. The complimentary chips come with a red and green sauce. We were too full to try the desserts, but the selection looked good.

Great food, love their service only if they can ppst their menu up on a website would be great, and also if they would do deliveries this place would be awsomee, but i love theyre food so i strongly recomend it.😉😀

Good service but food was bland

Awesome authentic Mexican cuisine in an unassuming location. The staff are always friendly and the food is always so delicious! I wouldn't recommend anywhere else in the area if you want quality Mexican food.

Always good food at a good price

I had 3 Steak/ Bisteak Tacos and 3 Chicken/ Pollo Tacos very tasty !! Lime and Radishes on the side with mild / Hot Green/ Red Saucers ...The Lovely Young Lady at the front End Knew exactly what I wanted!!!

One of my favorite places to get takeout from, definitely recommend this place for delicious Mexican cuisine. It is very refreshing that you get homemade tortillas, yummy one of the reasons I always come back. My personal favorites are the tacos dorados (fried tacos) and the pozole. Must try it

Great food, friendly staff

Good place to eat. Vegeterian entree was good. They add mushrooms in their veggie and hence might not suit non-mushroom veg eaters. Appetizer was ok.

Food is phenomenal! Casual restaurant with great food. Would really recommend to anyone looking for a place to eat Mexican food.

Very friendly service, but the food took very long to come out despite being an empty restaurant. Appetizers were brought out with the meal. Fajitas were made in an oven and not "grilled".

Never said hated the place

I decided to get the enchiladas de verdes because this is my all time favorite meal whenever I go to a Mexican restaurant. I also ordered 3 tacos: al pastor, beef, and shrimp. While they weren't the most flavorful I really enjoyed the tacos. But again I think because I got them to go they don't taste as good as when you sit there

Great plentiful food at a good price. They need more people though. Service was a little slow, because literally one poor woman was working there! She WAS friendly and did her best. We will definitely return there

Home cooking and nice staff

I love going here with my husband they always are very polite and we get a lot of food for the prices. The food always comes out very fast.

The food is great!! The tacos, quesadillas, pollo a la plancha, camarones a la veracruzana was delightful. We actually went back the very next day to order again. The staff is very helpful. We have had take out twice, but look forward to sitting down for a meal here. The portions are large. The beans that come with the meals are like butter, they really do melt in your mouth. The young lady that helped us advised that most people come back several times in the first month. I am a believer.

Restaurant looks clean but the steak was to bland and dry. Rice and beans were good but not Hot when the food came out. Salsa for the chips was to spicy but the chips was Great. Over all good place but need a new chef to bring more favor to the food. Loved the hot cloth for your hands. I won't be back!

I eat in this spot a lot since I work close by. I must say their customer service is always great and they keep the place neat constantly. Prices are fair and they serve generous portions.

Friendly and good food

When it first opened it had great food. Now that's it open they make processed food only and its not good anymore. And they are racist towards Americans.

It's a super casual, no frills restaurant. Dress comfortably and be prepared to eat!! We go here every few weeks for one of the best Mexican meals you can get in NJ! They also offer take out. They give you chips and dip when you sit... both dips are very spicy but very good. I usually get the chicken ranchito style, it's not spicy at all and very good. You can't beat the prices and both my sister and I usually have food to bring home. The waitress we always have is always so nice and if we have any questions regarding the meals she always answers them with full knowledge.

We love it here! No frills. But the food is always fresh, cooked to order, authentic and delicious. Simple and satisfying. The staff is friendly. Dont expect quick service. Its laid back but worth the wait.

If you are looking for comfort food with home made taste , El Ranchito is the best place to go , It is not a fancy restaurant but the quality of food is great , the portions are very nice and the prices are very good , The server is a very nice lady and she is always smiling . Highly recommended with no waiting lines . there is plenty of parkings beside the Restaurant
